A shrill and not-too-bright troll at GayPatriot thinks the right’s caricature of leftists is unfair.
“Well, I’m a baby-killer that wants the government to take care of me. I hate Republicans for no reason and think that the terrorists make a good point. Above all else, I’m a communist that longs for the collapse of the United States economy and the capitalist world order, because I like the idea of living in a box in a shantytown and lazily living off of other peoples’ hard work.”
I don’t think that’s a caricature. I think that’s a pretty fair depiction of contemporary progressivism, as I will explain in the post-jump.
“Well, I’m a baby-killer that wants the government to take care of me.”
Well, objectively, yes. Progressives may hide behind the “I’m not pro-abortion, I’m pro-choice” dodge, but what does that position mean if not, “I think abortion for convenience is something that should be allowed. Heck, I think tax dollars should pay for it.” And in what other “choice” do progressives believe? Do they think we should have the choice to use toilets that actually flush effectively? To use incandescent lightbulbs? To drive large SUVs? To be able to take our kids out of public schools and educate them in schools of our choice? No, they don’t believe in any of that.
As for wanting the Government to take care of them … endless unemployment benefits, socialized health care, social security… what are these programs other than the expression of the desire to have Government take care of them?
I hate Republicans for no reason and think that the terrorists make a good point.
Again, well yeah. Did someone miss the deranged hatred directed at Bush and Republicans during the past eight years? Whereas with terrorists, the left protests that we have to understand their legitimate grievances against the USA for colonialism, capitalism, and supporting the only Democratic State in the Middle East. They wanted Dick Cheney “frog-marched” out of the White House, but they want everybody at Gitmo freed. You tell me the above statement isn’t true?
“Above all else, I’m a communist that longs for the collapse of the United States economy and the capitalist world order, because I like the idea of living in a box in a shantytown and lazily living off of other peoples’ hard work.”
Again, well yeah. As evidenced by the policies you endorse, that is exactly what you want. Excessive taxation, regulation, and deficit spending will crush the economy. And progressive tirelessly point out that the USA consumes 20% of the world’s resources with only 5% of its population.
So, for us to consume our “fair share,” our standard of living would have to decline 75%. Isn’t that pretty much an economic collapse?
