The Culture of Death Panels

The left professes shock and dismay that anyone would believe that their “end-of-life counseling sessions” and the medical review boards in their ObamaCare bills could ever be seen as a mechanism to ration care or coax the elderly and chronically ill to “take the blue pill” rather than seek treatment in order to lower the aggregate cost of medical care.

But the reason they lose the argument on death panels is because there is no conceivable reason to put them in the ObamaCare bill except to cut costs by rationing care and discouraging treatment of the elderly and chronically ill.

Chairman Zero even admitted this was so…

The chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives are accounting for potentially 80 percent of the total health care bill out here. … There is going to have to be a conversation that is guided by doctors, scientists, ethicists. And then there is going to have to be a very difficult democratic conversation that takes place. It is very difficult to imagine the country making those decisions just through the normal political channels. And that’s part of why you have to have some independent group that can give you guidance. It’s not determinative, but I think has to be able to give you some guidance. And that’s part of what I suspect you’ll see emerging out of the various health care conversations that are taking place on the Hill right now.– Barack Hussein Obama, New York Times April 14, 2009.

Worse, the left has an unfortunate history of choosing death over life, and even supporting mass death in service of their utopian socialist agenda.

During the Schiavo case, most of the left was in the side of pulling the plug, most of the right was on the side of preserving life, and most of America just wanted to just move on and not deal with the horrible realities of the situation. But not only was so much of the left adamant about pulling the plug on Terry Schiavo, but their leadership, in the form of Howard Dean, bragged about how they were going to ride that pony back to political power. And they still crow proudly for years about the fact that they couldn’t wait to pull the plug on Terry Schaivo to this day.

Why is it so hard to believe they would have any more problem pulling the plug on grandma?

Obama himself not only voted to let babies who survived abortions die, but argued vociferously in favor of it. If he has no compassion for newborn babies, why would we expect him to care about old people and the chronically ill?

Also, the left looked at 300,000 murdered under Saddam Hussein and yawned.  3,000,000 were murdered under Pol Pot while the liberal left high-fived itself over stopping the US from preventing the genocide, 20,000,000 were killed under Stalin, and upwards of 100,000,000 were killed under Mao and all the left could say was “You can’t make an omelette without breaking some eggs.”

They make a hero out of mass murderer Che Guevara, whose image adorned an Obama 2008 campaign office. The chief of that office, Maria Isabel, showed up at an ObamaCare rally with another woman who misrepresented herself as a doctor.

So, the left lies to advance their agenda, and they are way too comfortable with death as a tool of politics. Is it really so tough to believe these people would have any problem with killing off old white people to build their socialist utopia?

A ”Government Death Panel” is just about the only thing for which I’ll get ”approval”. I am such a candidate.

”Herr Doktor, the HusseiniaCare Death Panel has decided to offer you the choice of pills or the firing squad.”

    What’s in the pills?

“The pills are a combination of Orange Barrel, Window Pane, and Purple Haze with just a hint of Micro-dot.”

    But that won’t kill me!

    ”Just kidding!”

    BANG!!!!
