The Democrats claim to be the party of tolerance and compassion. The left claims they respect women. And most people would agree that attacking the children of a politician is out-of-bounds, and that wishing rape on a woman was beyond the pale.
So what can one conclude about the the compounded indecency of the American Left and its war of character assassination against Sarah Palin and her family? Last week, I mentioned the defacing of a picture of Trig Palin by that blogger who looks like photographic proof that Jabba the Hutt once mated with Helen Thomas. But that was not the first time the left leveled personal attacks against Sarah Palin or her family:
- Trig Palin’s “blog:” (http://downspalin.blogspot.com/) Attacks against Sarah, Trig, and the disabled. (The left is still scandalized that Trig Palin was not butchered in the womb for the crime of failing to be perfect.)
- Taking up a collection to murder Tripp Easton Mitchell Palin: (The left is still scandalized that Tripp Palin was not butchered in the womb for the crime of being inconvenient.)
- Encouraging Levi Johnston to abandon Bristol Palin. Of course, Levi Johnston later did, but the viciousness and indencency of encouraging a father to abandon his children speaks volumes about the utter selfishness and immaturity of the left.
- MSM Journalists express disdain for Piper Palin at the RNC Convention. A touching gesture of love disgusted the liberal mainstream journalists.
- Sandra Bernhard wants Sarah Palin gang raped. Audience of left-wingers applauds.
- Track Palin, Sarah’s Oldest Son who is currently serving with the US Army in Iraq was smeared as a drug-addict by, naturally, the enlightened liberals at the Democrats favorite website, DailyKos. The left also spread rumors that Track was forced to join the Army after vandalizing school buses, and that he was gay. (They wish!)
- The National Enquirer spread rumors that Sarah Palin had an affair, the that she had had another affair, but ultimately was forced to admit they had no evidence.
- A tipster to the left-wing Wonkette blog accused Todd Palin of cheating on Sarah multiple times, but again, no evidence was ever provided.
- Charlie Rangel, the Democrat Tax Cheat who won re-election handily despite his record of tax evasion and who still chairs the committee that writes tax laws… called Sarah Palin disabled.
- A sketch on NBC’s Saturday Night Live casually accused the Palin family of engaging in incest. (In fairness, the sketch was also ridiculing the MSM, their desperation to smear Sarah Palin, and their ignorance of of American culture beyond the media bubble. Still, it’s difficult to imagine them joking about Barack Obama or Al Gore committing incest.)
- CBC “journalist” calls Sarah Palin an “Alaska Hillbilly” and “trailer park trash” who looks like a “watered down porn star.”
- West Hollywood gay person hangs Sarah Palin in effigy. Wonder what would happen if someone in Orange County did the same to Michelle Obama.
- Crude photoshops of Trig Palin are apparently considered real knee-slappers in left-wing circles.
- T-Shirts were sold reading “Retarded Republican Babies for Palin,” yet another slam on Trig Palin.
- Michael Seitzman (a.k.a. “Who?) fantasized about raping Sarah Palin at the Huffington Post.
- Obama operative Howard Gutman calls Sarah Palin a bad mother. Because instead of being out campaigning, she should have been at home baking cookies and driving her kids to school.
- Far Left Professor Wendy Doniger says Sarah Palin isn’t a real woman. Because real women don’t have children, bake cookies, or drive their children to school. (The logic of the left.)
- Drunken Harpy and “not even talented enough for Air America” talker Randi Rhodes suggests Sarah Palin sleeps with teenaged boys.
- Deranged lunatic Andrew Sullivan remains obsessed to this day with the all-but-impossible conspiracy theory that Sarah Palin is not Trig Palin’s real mother.
- And, of course, David Letterman thought it would be hilarious to make a joke about one of Sarah Palin’s daughters being “knocked up” by Alex Rodriguez.
And I am sure I am missing a few things.
So what do we conclude from this? I conclude that the personal, destructive attacks against Sarah Palin’s family just go to show how morally bankrupt and indecent is the Modern Left.
If you want to disagree with Sarah Palin’s politics, that’s one thing. But the left isn’t targeting the voting demographic that can debate policy; they want to score the addle-minded, afternoon-television watching part of the electorate that couldn’t care less about the economic implications of tax policy, but wants to giggle knowingly when Sarah Palin or her daughters are called “white trash hos.”
Also, when an adult child of a politician screws up like Al Gore’s spoiled drug dealing asshole of a son or Joe Biden’s cokewhore of a daughter, that’s a little different, too. But the left didn’t just attack Sarah Palin’s policies, they attacked her children. And they attacked her through her children.
Lovely people, the left.

Beyond disgusting, all of it.
I’m not particularly surprised by any of it – remember, these are the same people who spent eight years calling Bush every filthy name they could think of, who tried to steal the election for Gore, who’ve said every absurd thing in the book about the war in Iraq (and in some cases, the people fighting it).
I think the kicker on that last point came today, as per a quote from some guy in the streets of Baghdad, cheering as the US troops left. He prattled about how “the Americans have abused and insulted us too much.” Naturally not a word about the 4,300 men who paid the ultimate price for his freedom, or the hundreds of billions of dollars spent there by the American taxpayers. And naturally not a word of thanks about being rid of Saddam, who wouldn’t have hesitated to shoot a man like that.
I think the utter filth to which Palin and her family have been subjected is definitely a new low for the Left as an American political movement. It’s gone far beyond anything they said about Bush 43, Reagan, or Newt Gingrich. And the reason is because…well…they know she is a threat. She’s a threat not only to their Teleprompter Jesus in the next election, but also to their long-held meme that the GOP doesn’t have any room for strong, accomplished career women.
Palin is a walking refutation of many of their talking points. They can’t argue against anything she is, does, or proposes…so they have to resort to disgusting personal attacks to try to destroy her.
Reprehensible, abominable people to be sure…especially with so much dirt on the leaders of their side of the aisle. And to think they dare accuse any of us of hypocrisy.

First of all, great job, Gregory. Some of the best compilation I’ve seen of the trashing of Sarah Palin.
Cylar, I can only say that I feel twice as strongly about the depths of filth the Left have reached. They have absolutely no moral leg to stand on. The only thing they have left is hate. Sort of like Gollum. If it weren’t for hate they would be nothing – a hollow shell. They must be very proud.

David Letterman’s hate is as old as some ancient Hebrew prophets.
Speaking of anti-Semitism, it’s Jerry Falwell and other fundy leaders who’ve gleefully predicted that in the future EVERY nation will be against Israel (an international first?) and that TWO-THIRDS of all Jews will be killed, right?
Wrong! It’s the ancient Hebrew prophet Zechariah who predicted all this in the 13th and 14th chapters of his book! The last prophet, Malachi, explains the reason for this future Holocaust that’ll outdo even Hitler’s by stating that “Judah hath dealt treacherously” and “the Lord will cut off the man that doeth this” and asks “Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother?”
Haven’t evangelicals generally been the best friends of Israel and persons perceived to be Jewish? Then please explain the recent filthy, hate-filled, back-stabbing tirades by David Letterman (and Sandra Bernhard and Kathy Griffin) against a leading evangelical named Sarah Palin, and explain why most Jewish leaders have seemingly condoned Palin’s continuing “crucifixion”!
While David, Sandra, and Kathy are tragically turning comedy into tragedy, they are also helping to speed up and fulfill the Final Holocaust a la Zechariah and Malachi, thus helping to make the Bible even more believable!
