Remember all through the campaign, when anyone who suggested that Obama was a Marxist was called paranoid? Remember how people said it was crazy to think Obama would seek political control over the economy.
It seems a lot less crazy now.
More and more, the nuts are people making claims like this from the Washington Post:
Not only is (Obama) not a socialist, he may in fact not even be a liberal. Socialists understand him more as a hedge-fund Democrat — one of a generation of neoliberal politicians firmly committed to free-market policies.
While the Post protests that Chairman Zero isn’t a socialist, the “free-market hedge-fund Democrat” demands that Congress give him the power to take over any business he wants at will.
Maybe that isn’t socialism, by their definition.
Maybe it’s just tyranny.
