Andrea Shalal-Esa files this dripping with condescension article from Reuters: White Community Adapts to Obama reality. All about how racist white Americans are coping with the horror of a non-white president.
Worried by racial tensions churned up by the U.S. presidential election, teachers at one U.S. high school braced for the worst in their majority white community the morning after Barack Obama was elected the country’s first black president.
Because, you know, white people, when they lose elections… they just go crazy. They start rioting in the streets, vandalizing buildings, and attacking members of religious minorities.
Oh, my bad, that’s only what Gay white people do when they lose elections…
About 94 percent of Carroll’s 170,000 residents are white, 2.2 percent are black, and even smaller numbers are Latino or Asian, according to the most recent U.S. Census data. The county is largely Christian and conservative, backing McCain by 64 percent to Obama’s 32.6 percent.
And white kind of horrors are inflicted on non-white members of this “Christian conservative” community?
Mokhtar Nasir, the chief of staff at Carroll Hospital Center, said he hasn’t faced much overt discrimination during his 13 years in the county over his Lebanese-Muslim heritage. Still, he says, many co-workers don’t recognize his holidays, and some ask year after year if he had a nice Christmas.
OMG. They actually asked him if he had a nice Christmas? OMG! I hope someone intervenes before this poor woman has to endure the horrors of being invited to an Easter Egg hunt!
Strangely, no media outlets were concerned about racism when a black man lost a bid for the senate from Maryland in 2006. But of course, that black man was a Republican. And they, of course, do not count.

Hey, Andrea Shalal-Esa, can you hear me all the way back there in 1954?

Signs that your racial grievance has jumped the shark: a generic good-will greeting offends you as it doesn’t take into account your sensitivities.
